Gill Devgon, Producer of the variety show in May, has raised a substantial amount of money for SAAS, in a very short period of time. She has been at the helm doing various sponsored fund raising events for SAAS, which includes various themed charity nights at the Ship Inn at Tean, and the raffle Gill held on the last night of the Regent panto Dick Whittington, which was for a Michelin Man signed by panto star Sheila Ferguson .
Gill has secured sponsorship from Michelin Tyres which includes raffle prizes, a local garage Auto Mechanix, and even sponsorship from her stepson’s business-Devgon Newsagents in Newcastle Staffs.
Gill’s sister Christine Underwood came up with the idea to hold a table top sale at her home on Fri 5th, where friends brought along unwanted presents to sell. Then tonight Gill is holding a Thai Buffet night at The Ship Inn Tean, where another raffle will take place.
To date Gill has managed to secure £850 for the charity, which charity officials are really pleased about.
