I Owe allot to Elisabeth Hughes, this lady with Asperger herself made my book possible, without her “Twin Brothers Worlds Apart” would never have happened.
So Far this book as sold over 300 copies with all the proceeds going to charity, Elisabeth and i spent allot of time on the telephone i in the UK and Elisabeth in the US at the time, over the months i recall sometimes i was on the phone to her explaining my story of growing up, the bullying, and the traumatic events what happened to me in my life, i burst in to tears on a number of occasion’s, but in the end it was worth it, because it clearly explains in my book what its like to live a a neurotypical world, there is also a message in there for professionals, so they can gain a better understanding of the condition.
Autism is such a complex condition, and with it been such a Hidden Disability it’s much harder for me, ie- those who have a condition or a disability which is clear to see ie someone who has mobility problems you can see that, but you cant see Autism.
So Elisabeth is a very close and dear friend of mine, we still communicate with each other and we keep in touch through email
