Why is Twitter doing something against their own Terms of Agreement?! A leader of a disability cause simply wants to be verified in order to ban the bullies, trolls, that mock and pretend to be him. How hard can this be to comprehend, Twitter? Please show some human compassion and verify Kevin Healey’s account for autism cause
D Kingston TRALEE, IRELAND
This is important to me because I also live with autism. This person does not deserve to be cyberbullied just because he lives with autism. If you would verify his account his campaign against bullying and cyberbullying would be more successful and the experience of using twitter would improve for the average user overall. To verify this account will bring more positive attention your way and twitter will have an exciting and immersive userbase which will bring the world closer together in real time. Now is the time to act.
MARTIN DAUBNEY LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM
Twitter should do more to stamp out trolling and protect the vulnerable. They can do that by verifying Kevin and sending a clear message out to the cyber bullies who prey on decent and campaigning men like him.
Owen McKenna AUSTRALIA
Kevin’s twitter (&& other) work is valuable to the community, he is being harassed because he is a soft target. Twitter’s verified acct status would help protect his work, to the advantage of all. It is exactly the point of a verified acct.
Aileen Parry POWYS, UNITED KINGDOM
Kevin should be verified
Mrs Jane Godfrey HERSHAM, UNITED KINGDOM
Twitter should be ashamed of themselves. So many being bullied and having their accounts duplicated by hackers and for people’s personal safety, you won’t allow them to have their accounts verified. Shame on you and is most certainly not a very good business move. You wonder why you keep loosing customers. Disgusting, you should be protecting your customers best interests.
Chris Mutch CORBY, UNITED KINGDOM
Kevin is the face of Autism in the UK, The work he does is invaluable to Parents like me and many families and Autistic people nationwide.
Ruth Farrish CALDICOT, UNITED KINGDOM
my son is 7 and has autism. I hope that this petition allows people with autism to access social media without fear of online bullying through impersonation.
deborah lawrence ROTHERHAM, UNITED KINGDOM
My son is also autistic and. although he is not old enough to have a twitter account yet, I would like to think he is protected when he is. I don’t agree with trolls and think cyber bullying is cowardly. There should be more done to police the internet and protect its users. Good luck with your campaign hope you can get your twitter account verified.
Lisa Fitzgerald, NOTTINGHAM, UNITED KINGDOM
Please verify Kevin, his bullying affects us all
Emily Isaacs EASTBOURNE, UNITED KINGDOM
It’s important that social media recognises a need to protect those individuals from emotional and mental abuse; doing any less is irresponsible and actively prejudiced against those individuals who need protection.
caron hall UTTOXETER, UNITED KINGDOM
kevin healey is an autism ambassador and must have his twitter account verified, his work is important!!
Paul Oconnor DIDCOT, UNITED KINGDOM
People with Autism suffer from higher than normal anxiety. Those with Asperger’s Syndrome have a high level of moral certainty and see the world in black and white. Twitter should concede on this occasion, even if Kevin doesn’t meet the rules. He deserves to be made the exception if only on humanitarian grounds. There is a company that says “Do no evil” and yet more have a policy on diversity. Twitter have neither of these traits – has Twitter sought advice from the National Autistic Society to get how important this is to Kevin. It’s such a small matter and given Kevin’s Autism it’s Twitter that are small minded.
Venessa Bobb BALHAM, UNITED KINGDOM
Met Kevin at film screening and appalled by what he shared with everyone. Something needs to be done. My son is 11 and I can’t get my autistic son to be removed from twitter. They ignore. Twitter need to act on this!
Kathy Hass ORLANDO, FL
Kevin Healey is fighting for millions of autistic spectrum people’s social and emotional aspects of their lives, which is so important to these vulnerable children and adults. Twitter should simply do the right thing, verify Kevin Healey’s account!
William Kinsella LIVERPOOL, UNITED KINGDOM
I have autism myself, and Kevin is an inspiration to autistic adults and children everywhere.
Melanie Narayanasamy NOTTINGHAM, UNITED KINGDOM
Kevin uses social media as way 2 communicate & reach others & make a difference- this is being jeopardised by awful people impersonating him. If off twitter, this would be fraud!
Nicky Dixon WIDNES, UNITED KINGDOM
It is important for people to stop impersonating Kevin. Kevin is an campaigner for Autism. His recognition is going towards people who is not him. Autism is a serious condition which familys all around the would like to ask Kevin him self for help and knowledge on the condition and serious questions. Please verify Kevin!
Lorraine Marshall BELLSHILL, UNITED KINGDOM
why won’t Twitter verify? signing it’s a no brainer Verify this man
Louise Sheridan MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM
As someone who’s also on the autistic spectrum, I believe that Twitter should act as a matter of priority, because it amounts to a hate crime towards a disabled person.
Maz Monkcom PORTSMOUTH, UNITED KINGDOM
I have a son on the Autistic Spectrum, and I believe Mr Healey is a voice for people like my son, who needs and deserves his account verification, as his campaign does not need disruption by trolls.
Una Timlin COVENTRY, UNITED KINGDOM
Kevin Healey is very brave, I am not even brave enough to tell most of the people I work with about my aspergers out of fear of how I would be treated, although it may improve their understanding of why I act as I do and thereby create a better working environment. He should be protected on twitter.
Mark D Swartz TORONTO, CANADA
Supporting Kevin’s anti-bullying campaign by getting Twitter to validate his handle will free Kevin up to pursue his laudable campaign with even greater success.
Zoey O’Toole BROOKLYN, NY
It’s easy to smear an activist’s name by impersonating him or her, and it’s harder for one who has autism to correct the problem. If Twitter verifies ANYONE it should be in this situation.
Jennifer Allan DUNDEE, UNITED KINGDOM
Twitter have a duty to protect subscribers like Kevin from cloning and harrassment.
heather hudson ONT, CA
This is so wrong and Kevin Healey is a friend of mine on Twitter. He also is an Inspiration to all of us who live with Autism and within Autism communities wether parents/caregivers of individuals with Autism or self advocates living with Autism-signing now-this is appawling, why won’t twitter just validate and verify and protect my friend’s account like they do for the rest of us like me-hang in there Kevin Healey-stay strong
Angela Sandford IPSWICH, UNITED KINGDOM
For goodness sake twitter, just verify this poor mans account! – this must be causing considerable stress to Kevin, and waiting his valuable time, when he could be putting this time into his campaigning. If you were to recognise, and know anything about autism, you would understand why this gentle mans request is a valuable one. He’s not just using his account for personal or entertainment – he’s using it to spread the word about autism, and campaign. Why should his experience of twitter be ruined by trolls? – verify his account NOW!!! Regards, Angela…..a mother who has children with autism, aged 16 and 21.
Anita Drewek REDHILL, UNITED KINGDOM
I have a son with autism. Kevin is a wonderful campaigner , he inspires many people. Stop bullying!
drika pronk MODIMOLLE, SOUTH AFRICA
People with autism need to be protected, what are we as a society when we refuse? Whether it is personal space or cyberspace…. Verify him!
Amy Kuehn INDIANAPOLIS, IN
People who have autism have enough issues, Twitter! Don’t be another obstacle! This man is doing good work and just because some lowlifes are doing their best to make things harder for him, you’re joining them? Doesn’t make sense. Do the right thing.
Megan Prater ELK GROVE, CA
No one should be bullied because of a disability and have their identity stolen. Please Verify him so he can get back to campaigning for Autism!
Stacey Zambrano LAKE CHARLES, LA
It should just be a common practice, if some asks to have a there account protected and verified at each use, it should not be a problem to do that. In fact it should already be set up to do this.
Sharron Connelly HARTLEPOOL, UNITED KINGDOM
Kevin campaigns on behalf of those with autism. If he continues to be harassed like this he may stop – and then the bullies have one – as so often happens to people with autism. Please take this simple step, Twitter
Linda Mastroianni ST. MATHIEU DE BELOEIL, CANADA
Kevin has done so much to raise autism awareness, acceptance and to abolish all forms of bullying especially towards autistic people. He is constantly bullied online. Instead of praising his work, mean spirited people are trying to take him down. Kevin is an amazing human being.
Linda Drugan DUBLIN, IRELAND
Because it is wrong to ignore bullying especially when Kevin is promoting an excellent campaign representing thousands of people.
Andrea (Love4MyGirl) LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM
As the Mother a beautiful daughter with Autism, I admire the work Kevin Healey a campaigner National Ambassador does to highlight this cause, & bullying.
I would much rather a Gentleman of this nature have a verified account than half the nobody celebs that seem too.
Sort it out Twitter Please..
Much Love & Respect Kevin x
Lynn Dent ROTHERHAM, UNITED KINGDOM
Our children and us as parents need a great person like Kevin to be an Ambassador to help us fight for our rights – he should be allow to do this without having to waste his time sorting out bad/troll account…please verify Kevin Healey.
Elle Dune TORQUAY, UNITED KINGDOM
I want to follow this person who is doing so much good but worried about following a clone due to how easy it is to impersonate someone. Twitter please verify the account! I too have experienced cyber harassment-which can sometimes be people we know. Knowing Twitter won’t verify Kevin’s account is appalling.
Jay Sharp HATFIELD, UNITED KINGDOM
Kevin is an awesome champion for Autistic rights. Impersonaters should not be tolerated. and verification of his account would prevent .
wendy prati ILKESTON, UNITED KINGDOM
Let me ask Twitter a question, Do Twitter support Cyber Bulling? Protect Kevin Healey and show that you do not support Cyber bulling!
Deborah Green BIRMINGHAM, UNITED KINGDOM
This heroic man fights our corner on autism. Verifiy his account to stop him being vilified by devious people.
Natalya Fisher LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM
A kind, genuine and extremely hardworking man who should be given the chance to have his account verified and doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. This impersonation needs to stop right now as it’s out of order and painful. As someone who’s been constantly bullied and not given a chance by society, things need to be done.
Karen Lewis STOKE-ON-TRENT, UNITED KINGDOM
I have met Kevin through my work with a local autism charity, which he started and he has a genuine passion to help others with the same problems as himself. As an autistic person, it is hard enough for him to deal with some of what life throws at us, without having to tackle the extra pressure of these bullying trolls as well. I appreciate what he has to deal with, as my own daughter has an autism diagnosis, like Kevin. I feel he deserves to have his account verified, so that this unnecessary impersonation and bullying can be stopped straight away, enabling Kevin to get on with the business of helping others, unhindered.
Sharon McArdle CARSTAIRS, UNITED KINGDOM
Certain members of the public should be able to have their accounts verified and Kevin Healey is a prime example of one that should be given this courtesy.
Peter Guerin HADLEY, NYAs someone who had to deal with being bullied as a kid because of my having ADHD and PDD-NOS, I can totally relate to Kevin Healey’s situation. Verify his Twitter account now!
Paulla Hall CHRISTCHURCH, UNITED KINGDOM
Kevin does important work. Twitter should verify his account and show where they stand on the bullying issue!!
iam Hamer CUMBRIA, UNITED KINGDOM
Kevin is doing a fantastic job of raising awareness of autism and online bullying. He is absolutely worthy of being verified, especially as people who do far less and are far less known are. Being verified will take some of the stress from his shoulders and will allow him to concentrate on the fantastic job he is doing.
Andrea Evans RIPLEY, UNITED KINGDOM
Because I believe that people on Twitter who have been subjected to abuse on Twitter deserve protection.
Gail Kemp DEVIZES, UNITED KINGDOM
Kevin is a staunch campaigner to have laws changed with regard to bullying and hate crime towards adults with autism. To have his Twitter verified would be one small step to stop people impersonating him and being abusive
Lisa Smith LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM
Kevin does so much work to make autistic children’s lives bully free – please verify his account so he can continue without people making his job harder
